The Tidings Online Article

April 9, 2014-Hundreds of college-bound seniors from communities throughout the Archdiocese of Los Angeles packed the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels today to participate in our annual student-led Senior Mass. Following the Mass three high school seniors were honored for academic excellence as part of an awards luncheon on the Cathedral Plaza.

They are:

-Angela Escobedo, Santa Clara High School in Oxnard, winner of the “Student Video” contest

-Miguel Cardenas, Verbum Dei High School in Watts, winner of the “My Legacy” essay contest

-Carolina Ibarra, Santa Clara High School in Oxnard, winner of the “Student Video” contest

The celebration reminded us how talented, motivated, and grateful the young people of our community are. Thank you to all the seniors who participated! Your inspiring examples continue to propel our shared mission and serve as beacons of light to everyone you come across! As Pope John XXIII said: “Consult not your fears, but your hopes and your dreams. Think not about your frustrations, but about your unfulfilled potential.”
